Consultant/Editor for College Admission Consulting Program
This is a pioneering college consulting program – the first of its kind in Vietnam – with a holistic approach to helping students grow beyond the application process: we focus on robust preparation that not only enables success in college, but develops overall capacity to explore life opportunities. In the program, students develop their critical thinking abilities, essay writing, and narrative storytelling skills – not only on paper, but in person, too. We guide our students to perform insightful research about American colleges and universities, and understand overall application strategies for top institutions. Students also receive expert advice on profile building, school placement, financial aid applications and scholarship opportunities, and financial planning and visa applications. Summit does not do ghost-writing or engage in any underhanded practices: we believe in helping our students refine and develop their own authentic stories, which reflect the nuances and depth of their real character.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Provide conceptual feedback on ideas and structures of students personal statements and supplemental essays.
- Review and revise student essays for style, grammar, and voice, encouraging the students to pursue their own learning process as writers.
- Comment on and edit students’ resumes and extracurricular activities essays.
- Coach students on communicative oratory and interview skills (if needed).
REQUIREMENTS
We are open to recruiting both English speakers and Vietnamese nationals who have graduated from 4-year colleges and universities in English speaking countries, with:
- At least a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University, preferably Ivy league university or Top UN/LAC with majors in Philosophy, Literature, the Social Sciences, History, English or other related disciplines…
- Experience in essay editing and writing coaching is a plus
- Excellent critical thinking and writing skills, with flexible confidence across a range of writing formats
- Excellent organizational skills and team spirit
- A desire to help students learn and reach their full potential
