BC TOUR PROJECT

A. GENERAL INFORMATION
1. WHO IS BC?
BC is a reputable Non- profit Cultural & Social organization in Hanoi, founded on Dec 25th 2006. BC, in Vietnamese, stands for FRIENDS & SINCERITY, a core value we always strive for.

2. WHAT IS BC TOUR?
This is an English language course (30 hours/course, expected to last 10 weeks in total), aiming to improve students’ English communication skills through practical training and visiting famous tourist destinations in Hanoi. We expect to officially launch it at the end of September 2012.
Outdoor classes will be organized. They mainly involve games,  discussion and presentations based on cultural or historical characteristics of specific locations. In addition, BC Tour will involve volunteering activities (Ideal duration: 4 hours/ course).
At BC Tour, we hope both the staff volunteers and students will have the opportunities to enrich their knowledge about the city as well as the community.
 
B. RECRUITMENT
1. Long-term vacancies: ideal for people who stay in Hanoi for 3 months or longer
1.1. BC Tour Project Team Member (Job Code: BCTL-TM)
    Duration: Long-term (three months or longer), 7 hours/weeks. Expected Start: Immediately
    Requirements: Have a good command of the English language; Have a passion for exploring Hanoi and developing people; Have a degree or experience in any English language or tourism-related fields (beneficial but not compulsory).
         Main Duties:
o  Design suitable and effective teaching syllabus which ensures cost-effectiveness
o Develop recruitment campaign for foreign and Vietnamese volunteers
o   Design marketing plans, organize and get involved in marketing events
o   Participate in BC Tour lessons to ensure its smooth run as well as quality
o   Provide appropriate feedback on oral and written work of students (if needed)
 
1.2. English Teacher (Job Code: BCTL-ET)
   Duration: Long-term (three months or longer); minimum 6 hours/weeks. Expected Start: Immediately
    Requirement: Native English-speaker; Have a passion for exploring Hanoi and developing people; Experience in teaching English is beneficial but not required
         Main Duties:
         o   Now – Mid-Sep 2012: Co-operate with BC Tour Team to design suitable and effective teaching syllabus, Minimum: 3hours/ week. Working online is acceptable
        o   Mid- Sep 2012 onwards: Lead a class of 12-15 students based on BC Tour teaching syllabus, Provide appropriate feedback on oral and written work of students, Proactively work with BC Tour Team to improve teaching syllabus where necessary
 
1.3. Teaching Assistant (Job Code: BCTL-TA)
   Duration: Long-term (three months or longer); minimum 6 hours/weeks. Expected Start: Immediately
      Requirements: Have a good command of English; Have a passion for exploring Hanoi and developing people; Be a flexible team-player and communicator; Process attention-to-detail skill
        Main Duties:
        o   Now – Mid-Sep 2012: Co-operate with BC Tour Team to design suitable and effective teaching syllabus, Minimum: 3hours/ week. Working online is acceptable
        o   Mid-Sep 2012 onwards: Effectively cooperate with foreign English teachers to deliver quality and interesting lessons, Motivate students to speak English confidently; set an example of using English in any class activities, Provide appropriate feedback on oral and written work of students; Lead a class of 12-15 students based on BC, Tour teaching syllabus if required
 
1.4 Syllabus- Developing Adviser (Job Code: BCTL-SA)
       Duration: Flexible. Working online is acceptable. Expected Start: Immediately
           Requirements:
o   Have a passion for exploring Hanoi and developing people; Have educational knowledge/ experience or
o   Have worked in any similar projects
·             Main Duties: Provide advices and assist BC Tour team on designing suitable and effective teaching syllabus
 
2. Short-term vacancies: Ideal for tourists who travel to Hanoi from September 2012 onwards
2.1. Tourist Participant (Job Code: BCTS-TP)
        Duration: Flexible. Expected Start: End of Sep 2012 onwards
       Requirements: None. Applicants can choose to join any BC Tour Lessons if our class meets your time and location interest.
        Main Duties:
o   Participate in all BC Tour activities at your chosen location
o   Take initiative to create conversations with (shy) Vietnamese students, motivate them to speak in English
o   Simply enjoy your time with us; learn as much as you want about Vietnamese culture and history by exploring the different locations and talking to your new friendly Vietnamese friends
 
3. Your benefits from joining BC Tour
      All employment positions with BC are strictly for volunteering; thus you will not receive any salary. However, we are happy to offer the following great benefits so that you can enjoy your time with BC to the fullest:
       – All costs (excluding transportation cost) incurred during BC Tour lessons (for example: entrance tickets, drinks, teaching materials etc) will be covered by BC.
         – Some pocket money will be given as a small financial support for your commute cost to the class locations (For longterm positions only)
        – Have great opportunities to explore famous tourist attractions in Hanoi with many outdoor activities and have your wonderful students as free local tour guides.
          – For Foreigners: you either have or have never been to Vietnam before, we will try our best to enable your most pleasant stay in Hanoi.
         – Have great opportunities to participate in any BC activities – a reputable Non-profit Cultural and Social organization in Hanoi.
