For Participating in the Freezing Event

Stopping domestic violence is everyone’s business”
The event is a part of the campaign “Replace domestic violence with love”
Introduction
In response to November 25th – International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women- the Gender Equality Department, UN Women, Oxfam and CSAGA join together to organize a national communication campaign on Gender Equality, Women and Unpaid Care.
One of the activities within this campaign is the Freezing Event with the participation of over 150 volunteers. The event will take place in front of and in the Vincom Shopping Center on 25th November, 2012.
What do you know about Freezing?
Freezing is a type of performance aimed at raising awareness for a particular cause. Participants will freeze in different positions at the exact same time. Whatever common activity they might choose to be doing – walking, shopping, talking on the phone or discussing the meaning of life with your friend – when the clock strikes the agreed upon time all participants will freeze in whatever position they are in. The point is to freeze at the same time and cause a reaction from people passing by. The whole event will be filmed by 5 cameramen and media will be invited as well. There is one purpose – to deliver a public message that domestic violence must stop and that it is everyone’s responsibility.
Freezing has been used in many countries in the world for various social purposes, but this is the first time freezing has been used in Vietnam.

How can you participate?
If you are interested in contributing to a good (and very pressing) cause while still having fun and doing something creative you are most welcome to participate! You will be making history by freezing Vietnam for the first time!
Please send us the registration form. After that you will be invited for training where we will practice with theater professionals from the Youth Theatre.

Schedule
Freezing practice: From 9:00a.m to 11:00a.m on 22nd November, 2012 in Yen Hoa Cultural House, Cau Giay District.
Performance: From 10:15a.m to 10:30a.m on 25th November, 2012 at Vincom Shopping Center (191 BaTrieu, Hai Ba Trung, Hanoi)
