Eco-generation of Samsung Engineering would like to offer opportunities to the young students to participate in the 2017 Global Eco-Leaders Camp which will be held in Seoul, South Korea in February, 2017 by sponsoring the respective winners around the world to explore the environmental awareness activities.

Eligibility:

– Participants: Eco-generation members around the world aged between 13 and 16;

– Facilitator: Eco-generation member aged 18 or older.

  1. Mekong Challenge 2017 – Myanmar (fully-funded)

Mekong Challenge is the leading annual entrepreneurship competition for university students across the Mekong Region. The competition is open to all undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled at universities in Bhutan, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam and Yunnan Province, China.

Business and Social Venture ideas relating to all sectors (e.g., IT, technology, agriculture, tourism, service sector, etc.) are eligible for consideration. This year, priority is given to teams that are committed to launching a business or social venture.  The Mekong Challenge program is designed to help launch new businesses and social ventures via a 3-month online training and mentoring process.

The final challenge will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 in Yangon, Myanmar (subject to final confirmation).  The Mekong Challenge will cover airfare from home country in the Mekong Region / Bhutan, plus hotel and meals for all student teams.

The winning team will advance to the International Business Model Competition which will be held in the U.S. (Silicon Valley) on May 1, 2017.  The Mekong Challenge will cover flight and accommodation expenses for the winning student team to compete in the International Business Model Competition in the U.S.

  1. Asia Pacific Leadership Program (APLP) – USA (fully-funded)

The APLP is the center of excellence for leadership education in the Asia Pacific region and a signature program of the East West Center. The APLP seeks outstanding individuals from all walks of life (government, business, NGOs, health sciences, media, monastic orders, and education) to participate in an innovative leadership development program at the East-West Center in Honolulu, Hawai’i. The average age of an APLP Fellow is 33, with an average of 5 – 8 years of professional experience prior to entering the program.

All fellows live on the East-West Center’s campus in Honolulu, Hawaii from August through December 2017 for the residential portion of the program. From January – April 2018, the program is run virtually [online] and fellows have the option to return to their home countries or apply for extended fieldwork in Southeast Asia, internships, self-designed projects and employment experiences.
