Hoàng Thu An – 7.5 IELTS

Let’s all admit it – a good IELTS band is pretty much one of the most basic things you need in order to get accepted into a decent university, which is probably why it’s becoming increasingly popular for students to take classes specified in IELTS, even in smaller cities. To be honest, though, I used to be pretty sceptical about centres that provide these services; as I myself had taken intense extra classes which didn’t always seem to work out that well.

Therefore, when I first considered taking the IELTS exams and heard about Summit through my dad’s colleague, I never expected this place to have such a positive impact on my performance. My teachers always tried to get students to be independent instead of relying on the internet (no phone policy for example), and in addition to that, I was given detailed feedback on every of my work. The positive learning environment is definitely what motivates me the most (apart from getting good grades of course) 🙂

Personally, though, I guess I’m most impressed with the number of resources provided by the centre. There was not a day when I came out of class feeling like I haven’t learnt anything new, as there’s always so much to learn – even specific tips taught by the teachers which I wouldn’t know of otherwise. Thanks to Summit, my ability to speak English fluently has improved significantly, as my teacher always got me to talk in class and hence made me feel less awkward. As a result, I’m now much more comfortable with forming ideas, as well as talking on my own for a longer amount of time.

All in all, the skills that I learned at Summit really helped me a lot in IELTS. Therefore, I’m sure that the centre will continue to thrive in the future. I would definitely recommend Summit not only to those who are considering taking the IELTS exams, but also people who want to improve their English in general.
