Choosing the right place to continue your education is about finding the best value for your investment and completing your degree. At North Central, we offer quality academic and co-curricular programs, small classes, excellent support services and a variety of scholarships to help you make a quality education possible. North Central is happy to offer the following scholarships for undergraduate international students.

International Freshmen Applicants 

International Scholarship – An academic scholarship for undergraduate students is offered to qualified students at the time of admission. The award ranges up to $20,000 per year (up to $80,000 over four years) and is renewable if the student remains in good academic standing. Grades, test scores, essay and teacher recommendation are considered in the award review.

Presidential Scholarships – A scholarship for exceptional high school students, the award amount is determined during the application review process and is an award of $17,500 per year ($70,000 over four years). The award is based on a combination of GPA (grades/marks) from core academic classes and SAT or ACT test scores. This scholarship is renewable provided the minimum grade requirements are maintained while a student at North Central. Note: This scholarship cannot be combined with an International Scholarship.

Science Scholarships – These scholarships are available to full-time students intending to major in science, mathematics or computer science. The award ranges up to $2,000 per year and is renewable for four years provided that the appropriate grades are maintained and student completes nine credit hours in science courses per year. 

International Transfer Applicants

International Scholarship – An academic scholarship for undergraduate students is offered to qualified students at the time of admission. The award ranges up to $20,000 per year (up to $60,000 over three years) and is renewable if the student remains in good academic standing. Grades, test scores, essay and teacher recommendation are considered in the award review.

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) – The PTK scholarship of $3,000 is awarded at the time of admission. Recipients must be a member of PTK, an international honor society at community colleges. It is limited to nine terms (three academic years). If you are a member, please provide a copy of your membership card with your application.

Alpha Beta Gamma (ABG) – The ABG scholarship is awarded at the time of admission. Recipients must be a member of ABG, a business honor society at community colleges. This scholarship is limited to nine terms (three academic years). If you are a member, please provide a copy of your membership card with your application.

Any International Undergraduate Applicant (Additional Application Material Required)

Leadership in Cultural Exchange Scholarship (Freshmen) – This scholarship of up to $3,000 is awarded to international student applicants who attended a U.S. high school and actively participated in cultural events in their host communities. A separate application is required; the deadline is in June. Recipients are expected to participate in international clubs and events on campus.

Leadership in Cultural Exchange Scholarship (Transfer) – This scholarship of up to $3,000 is awarded to international student applicants who attended a U.S. community college and actively participated in cultural events in their host communities. A separate application is required; the deadline is in June. Recipients are expected to participate in international clubs and events on campus.

Talent Scholarships – As an incoming student, you may audition for talent scholarships in the areas of music, theatre, art and forensics (public speaking and debate). They are renewable depending on department funding and your continued participation. For further information, contact your admission counselor.

Alumni Scholarship – Incoming students can be recommended by an alumnus/alumna of North Central to receive a $1,000 scholarship. Recommendations must be received by March prior to the year the student will enter North Central. If you know someone who graduated from North Central, have them recommend you for this scholarship through the Alumni Office.

International Religious Scholarship – A scholarship for students preparing for the ministry or who intend to be active at North Central in campus ministry. A separate application is required, and the deadline is February 1st.  Preference is given to United Methodist students.  Please contact your admission counselor if you have questions.

International Trustee Scholarship – A merit- and need-based scholarship offered to one entering first-year or transfer student each year. A separate application is required. To be invited to apply, students must be admitted for Fall Term no later than February 1st.

Endowed Scholarships – North Central offers a number of endowed scholarships for first-year, transfer or continuing students funded by generous graduates and community members.  These scholarships often require study in a particular field or participation in campus or community activities.  They require an additional application form and have early deadlines.

Full Scholarship for an Outstanding Japanese Student – This endowed scholarship has been established to support outstanding students from Japan with financial need. The scholarship will include tuition, fees, academic year room and board, books, a personal expense stipend, medical insurance and one round-trip flight to/from the United States. To apply, students must apply and be admitted to an undergraduate degree program at North Central as well as complete an additional scholarship application form.
